STRATEGIC PLAN

STRATEGIC PLAN 2023 - 2028

The Namibia Investment Promotion and Development Board (NIPDB) transitioned from its initial 24-month operational strategy to a five-year strategy on 01 April 1 2023 which ends on 31 March 2028. Building on the lessons learned during its first two years of operation, our new strategy focuses on effectiveness and efficiency, and aims to deliver immediate results while preparing for long-term growth. Namibia’s profile as an investment destination has improved, but more work is needed to elevate it to the desired global rankings.

Investor confidence has increased, and the investment climate has notably improved over the past two years. While Namibia's resource-dependent economy remains sensitive to external shocks, the country is making strides in addressing key challenges. But despite positive economic indicators, there is an urgent need to effectively tackle the triple threat of unemployment, inequality, and poverty, particularly in the regions outside the major economic hubs.

The NIPDB aims to harness opportunities to improve living standards for all Namibians, aligning with Vision 2030 and other national planning objectives. Our 5-year strategy is thus ambitious but achievable, with an emphasis on coordination and partnerships to drive inclusive economic growth and contribute to the nation's long-term development goals.
