Targeted at: Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs)

Feira Internacional de Luanda (FILDA) 2022 is scheduled to take place from 12 to 16 July 2022. FILDA is Angola’s largest multi-sectoral trade fair, which brings together global entrepreneurs and investors to establish business contacts, commercial and diplomatic relations among participating countries in Africa and across the globe. It offers a platform for business exchange for MSMEs and an opportunity for valuable interactions between government offices and agencies, enabling them to position their respective countries to potential investors.

Angola is a longstanding trade partner for Namibia. In 2021, Namibia exported goods valued at N$463 million to Angola, of which the main exported commodities include live animals, other fixed vegetable fats and fractions, polyethylene in primary forms, sweet biscuits, onions and maize flour. Furthermore, white chocolate, vegetable seed, power transformers and articles of plastics also formed part of Angola’s most demanded commodities from Namibia.
Opportunities for investments in other areas exist, within the framework of bilateral and trade agreements between the two countries.

The Namibia Investment Promotion and Development Board (NIPDB) has secured a pavilion at FILDA and hereby extends an opportunity to businesses within the MSMEs categories to showcase their products at the pavilion.

To be considered for selection to be hosted in the NIPDB pavilion, interested MSMEs must meet the following selection criteria:

  • Be formally registered with BIPA and other relevant authorities
  • Have majority (51%) Namibian shareholding
  • Have high quality, export ready products, OR fully fledged market standard service offering
  • Within the following sectors; Textile Manufacturing, Agriculture & Agro-processing, Mining, ICT, Education, Tourism, Renewable Energy & Green Hydrogen and Pharmaceuticals.
  • Majority (51%) female owned businesses that meet all of the above criteria may have an added advantage

If selected to participate, the MSMEs must ensure they have the following relevant travel documents ready at the time of travel:

  • Valid passport, ready at least 10 days prior to travel
  • Yellow fever vaccine, ready at least 10 days prior to travel
  • Valid PCR test on departure and return, ready at least 1 day prior to departure
  • Visa for none Namibian shareholders of the MSMEs

If the above documents are not in place at the time of travel, the NIPDB reserves the right to revoke the participation/selection of the affected entity.

The NIPDB will cover the following costs for the selected MSMEs; return flight tickets, accommodation (at NIPDB’s discretion), transport within Luanda for the purpose of the mission and a daily stipend.
