Job Purpose:
The incumbent is expected to actively promote Namibia as the destination of choice through delivering effective investment promotion services to both foreign and domestic investors. In addition, this position is also expected to provide efficient backstopping support services across the four tiers of NIPDBs Foreign Representation Strategy outlined in the Guidelines. In line with the mandate of the Branding and Strategy Department’s responsibility to promote brand awareness and to develop and implement the National Investment Promotion Strategy, this position is central to the accomplishment of the strategic goals of increasing Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) flows, creating jobs, increasing market access for Namibian produce and stimulating a multiplier effect through local and foreign business linkages.

 

Role and Responsibilities:
- Provide Investment and Export Promotion support services to Commercial Offices, Diplomatic Missions and other foreign representation partners for a more result-driven promotion strategy
- Conduct research on FDI Source markets and follow latest trends on global FDI flow data to inculcate best practices into departmental mainstream activities
- Benchmark NIPDBs investment promotion strategies with that of other countries as well as National and Regional IPAs across the world to enhance competitiveness
- Identify Global, Continental and Regional high-value Exhibitions, Conferences, Webinars and other relevant platforms for Investment Promotion and recommend participation
- Proactively investigate and recommend the organization of Brand Awareness Campaigns & Road Shows and other promotional events including but not limited to Namibia Investment Seminars/Webinars, Exhibitions and Conferences both locally and in target markets
- Establish business networks with relevant stakeholders involved with domestic and foreign investment promotion and statistical data, to inform data-driven value proposition marketing of investment opportunities
- Work closely with the departments for Investment and New Ventures and Customer Experience and Aftercare on inbound and outbound business delegations and leads generated through the four foreign representation tiers

 

Qualification and Experience Requirements:
- Minimum of an appropriate and relevant Degree in the field of Economics, Marketing, Business Management, International Business Development or Commerce
- Minimum of 3-5 years related experience in FDI Promotion, Marketing Strategy Development, Implementation, Monitoring and Evaluation and participation in trade exhibitions locally and at global platforms
- Knowledge in Investor due diligence
- Language proficiency in German, French and/or Spanish and understanding of International Investment Law will be an added advantage
- Microsoft proficiency (PowerPoint, Excel)
